Attraction Nearby Temples to Amarnath Yatra Cave
The holy Amarnath Yatra 2017 is about to begin by the end of June 29, 2017. The sacred journey to the holy cave of Amarnath takes the pilgrims to the divine world of the Almighty. Along the way to Amarnath Yatra, you can discover some of the revered temples. These ancient temples are nestled alongside the main route to Amarnath Cave.
On the way to the main Pahalgam Center, the Mamleshwar temple lies at a distance of about 1km. It is a very ancient temple that belongs to the period of 5th Century. This mythological temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. As per the legends, this is the temple where Goddess Parvati guides Ganesha to stand and play guard to the entrance.
Sri Shankaracharya Temple:
This temple is dedicate to Sri Shankaracharya. Nestled on the hilltop of Srinagar, pilgrims can find this temple on the Pahalgam base. Also revered as Jyesteshwara temple, Lord Shiva is its main deity. Along with the Hindus, the Buddhists, Persians and Jews also had interim belief in the temple. The temple is constructed during the 9th Century. However, the old temple is said to get constructed somewhere near 200BC.
Martand Sun Temple:
This is one of the greatest and beautiful temples dedicated to Sun God Surya. On the way to Amarnath Yatra, this temple is located at a distance of about 40Km from Pahalgam. As per the resources, the foundation of the temple belongs to the period of 4th Century. However, the structure of the temple was built around 8th Century. The temple still carries the ruined sculptures and images of several lords. One can find the sculpture of Lord Vishnu, Surya and Goddess Yamuna and Ganga.
